35 sewing machines in Dhanmondi, and an industry that followed.
In 1975 our founder imported 35 Brother sewing machines from Japan — among the first automatic electric machines used for garment production in Bangladesh. Bond Garments Ltd. followed in 1976 and went on to lead national apparel export earnings.
